Hello, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my creative journey.

My name is Davyd, I am 19 years old, and I come from Lviv, Ukraine — a city with a strong cultural and visual identity that has significantly shaped the way I think about design.

My educational path began at a professional architecture college in Lviv, where I studied reconstruction. During this time, I developed a foundation in spatial thinking, structure, and design logic. Alongside my architectural studies, I came to realise that I am most effective in the field of digital design, particularly in working with interfaces, where structure, hierarchy, and user interaction are central to the design process.

I have a fine art background, including experience in drawing and sculpting, which helped me develop visual sensitivity, compositional awareness, and attention to detail. Initially, I considered interior design within the architectural field; however, over time I recognised that the principles of spatial and visual thinking I value most are best expressed through the design of digital environments — specifically web and graphic systems.

In Ukraine, I gained foundational experience in web design, which I consider an important preparatory stage in my education. This allowed me to build a solid understanding of UI/UX principles and graphic design basics, as well as the overall process of creating digital products. This experience helped me clearly define my direction, while also highlighting my need for a more structured, in-depth, and professional education.

For this reason, I am applying to your university. I believe that studying within the creative and critical environment of UAL will enable me to develop my own design approach, strengthen both my conceptual and technical skills, and grow into a thoughtful and responsible designer within the field of digital design.
